Armed Forces Day kids run - May 17, 2025
FREE KIDS RUN - Join EAA Chapter 640’s Armed Forces Day celebration and check out historic aircraft, preflight demos, and more! The first 200 kids to register are treated to a free pancake breakfast following their race.
Rib Mountain Adventure Challenge - May 24, 2025
ADVENTURE RACE - 18-hour, 8-hour, and 3-hour adventure race with trekking, biking, paddling, and map navigation. Canoes/kayaks provided. Celebrate the 10th year of this incredible event!
Solstice Summit - June 14, 2025
SUMMITTING CHALLENGE - Take on the toughest mile in the Midwest, with 700 feet of uphill. Timed and non-timed divisions including dog, rucking, and 10k options. Plus a free kids run.
GRAVENTURES - Summer 2025
GRAVEL BIKING - Find a variety of FREE summer gravel rides or adventures whether you’re a first timer or veteran gravel rider. Take the challenge on with a group or on your own schedule.
Underdown Trail Races - August 16, 2025
TRAIL RUN & MOUNTAIN BIKE - Half marathon, marathon, and 60k trail run and 16, 37, and 111 mile mountain bike on singletrack on challenging (and rewarding) terrain formed by glaciers.
Rib Mountain Trail Races - September 13, 2025
TRAIL RUN- The Steepest Test in the Midwest! Challenge yourself with a 50k, 25k, or 15k trail run on the trails of Rib Mountain State Park starting and finishing at the Granite Peak Ski Area. Plus a free kids run!
Red Granite Grinder - October 11, 2025
GRAVEL BIKE RACE - 50, 100, & 150 mile gravel bike races through Central WI starting and ending at Erbach Park in Athens WI with rolling gravel roads, ATV trails, beautiful parks, forests, ginseng fields, and farm lands. Free kids ride on the trails of Erbach Park.
Rib Mountain Adventure Challenge - Winter Edition - December 6, 2025
ADVENTURE RACE - 3-hour & 6-hour winter adventure race with trekking, biking (optional), snowshoeing (optional), special challenges, and map navigation.
Snowbound in the Underdown - February 21, 2026
FAT BIKE OR SNOWSHOE - Experience fat tire biking and snowshoe racing on the unique winter trails starting at Prairie Dells bike 10, 15 or 25 miles or snowshoe 3 or 6 miles with free snowshoe rentals available!

IRONBULL is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes outdoor adventure sports in Central Wisconsin. We aim to drive economic development, benefit community organizations, and attract and retain a talented work force through the production of high quality races and events that promote healthy living in our community.
IRONBULL’s partners include Rib Mountain, Wausau & Marathon County Parks & Recreation Foundation, The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce, Wausau & Marathon County Parks, Recreation & Forestry, CWOCC, Wausau Whitewater, the Woodson YMCA, UW-Stevens Point, and more. These local organizations make it possible for us to come together and work to improve and expand outdoor recreational facilities, trail systems, and opportunities for everyone to enjoy Central Wisconsin’s incredible natural beauty.
